
Cole Tapper

CYCA
After another successful year of sailing following the 2025 Warren Jones Regatta, which saw the team claim back-to-back Governor's Cup titles in July, and two wins at the US Grand Slam Series in August, Cole Tapper and his team from the CYCA Youth Sailing Academy return to defend their title. The team has a busy start to the 2026 sailing calendar, competing in the WMRT Final in China, followed by the WMRT Match Cup Macao and CYCA Helly Hansen International.

QUEST RACING
We are Quest Racing a team out of the RNZYS Youth Training Program, we have been sailing together as a team for around a year and a half. And we have had a string of good results in the youth regattas at home as well as over in Aus. The team consists of, Harry McMullen, Hugo McMullen, Lucas Day, Maddie Rist, Henry Angus and myself. We are looking forward to coming back to Perth again.

Matias usually does crew on a wide ranges of boats, from short Match Racing to long 600 mile races. For a couple of years ago he got together with a some good mates and started their own match racing team.

We are excited to be returning to the Warren Jones regatta this year. After a big year of racing overseas we are looking forward to be competing at our home club and to build on our performance from last years Warren Jones.

Smiths Racing is a team of youth sailors from all over NZ. We are looking forward to getting the team back together and returning to Perth. The club put on a great regatta last year, and we're looking forward to the racing.

Miami Race Team is an all-female team from Perth representing Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club. As the Warren Jones is one of Australia's most prestigious Match Racing events, our team is thrilled to be able to compete in the event for the 3rd year. As a young team up against some of the best Match Racers in the world, our goal is to race as hard as we can and gain as much learning experience and knowledge from the event.

RPAYC Youth Development
Kemp's team return for their second Warren Jones, having first competed in 2025. The team, made up of graduates of RPAYC's Youth Development Program, return this year as the new Australian Youth Match Racing Champions, and are excited to build on last year's performance.

Zac West

Sail + Racing
Sail+ is a sailing consultancy and racing team founded to bridge the gap between youth and professional sailing. Our Sail+ Racing team actively competes on the World Match Racing Tour, finishing 9th at the 2024 Final, as well as the Sailing Champions League and other standalone regattas. Our co-founder Zac West is the primary skipper for the Sail+ Racing team. He started in Optimists, worked his way through the ILCA classes, and is now in Yacht Racing. Zac has secured medals at various fleet-racing world championships and podiums at Grade 1 Match Racing events. Zac is looking forward to competing at the Warren Jones International alongside his teammates at his last youth regatta.

Beyond his respectful and personable character, Angus Cameron is a skilled and dedicated sailor. His achievements in the 29er class and in teams racing demonstrate both his talent and commitment to the sport.

Waitemata Racing represents the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, led by world number one–ranked youth match racing skipper Josh Hyde. The crew — Nick Drummond, Ryder Ellis, Zach Fong, Oliver Lloyd, and Noah Malpot — combine technical skill, composure, and a shared commitment to high-performance sailing. The 2025 season has been a standout year for the team, featuring victories at both the Hardy Cup in Sydney and the Toyota New Zealand Youth Match Racing Championship, along with impressive fourth-place finishes at the Warren Jones Regatta and the Governor’s Cup in California. Recognised for their sharp tactical decisions, disciplined teamwork, and enthusiasm on and off the water, Waitemata Racing continues to establish itself as one of the leading young match racing teams on the international stage.
