Waitemata Sailing Team
Josh and his Waitemata Sailing team have been sailing together over 5 years coming through the Youth Training Programme at RNZYS. They are currently ranked 1st in the Youth Match Racing World Rankings. This comes off the back of their ongoing performance in 2024 including winning the Hardy Cup in Sydney, 4th at Warren Jones, 4th at The Governor’s Cup in LA and taking out the NZ Youth Match Racing Champs to qualify to represent NZ at the Youth World Match Racing Champs in Jeddah. Along with Josh as Skipper, the core team of Zach Fong on Trim, Cody Coughlan on Bow and Mason Mulcahy on Trim continue to train intensively and look forward to the 2025 season starting with Warren Jones.

Mia Lovelady
Miami Race Team
Miami Race Team is an all female/mixed team from Perth WA, based out of Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club. This will be our second year competing in the Warren Jones Regatta with Mia Lovelady at the helm. We have been competing in events in WA and NSW over the last year along with training in between our busy University and work schedules. We look forward to showcasing our progress against some of the best teams from Australia and overseas.
Alec Coleman
True North Sailing Team
The True North Sailing Team skippered by Alec Coleman is a Canadian-based team with the goal of creating a pathway for young Canadians to race at the highest levels of keelboat and match racing. Founded in early 2023, the team has won events in Europe and North America across multiple classes and disciplines, and is excited to take on the Warren Jones Regatta in 2025.
Daniel Kemp
RPAYC Youth Development Team
Daniel and his team of D’Arcy, Belle, Lachie, Charlie, and Louis hail from the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. All graduates of the club’s ‘Youth Development’ program, they started racing together in various combinations at the beginning of 2022. Since then, the team has travelled variously to New Caledonia, Germany, California, and New Zealand. The team’s highlights include second place finishes at the New Zealand Youth International Cup and the Australian Youth Match Racing Championship. In fleet racing, the team also achieved a 6th place finish at last year’s Youth World Sailing Champions League Final. Brothers D’Arcy and Daniel are travelling to compete in their 2nd and 3rd Warren Jones Regattas respectively (having previously sailed with Alistair Read as skipper), while the rest of the team are excited to try out the Foundation 36s for the first time.
Max Paul
Bombora Racing
Max returns to Perth for his fourth Warren Jones Regatta on the back of a successful year competing in both the 49er class and at the UniCredit Youth America's Cup. Max and his team are looking forward to racing at one of the premier youth match racing events in the world and will look to improve on two consecutive 5th places in the last two editions of the Warren Jones.

We are a team representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron in Auckland, New Zealand. We all come from different sailing backgrounds such as dinghies and bigger keelboats. It will be the second time here in Perth for most of the team, with another year of eligibility in 2026.

Golden State Match Racing
Golden State Match Racing was founded in 2017 with the goal of winning the Open World Match Racing Championship with an all-youth team. Since its inception, the team has won 2 Governors Cups, 1 Youth Match Racing World Championship, Placed 2nd and 3rd in the Youth World Match Racing Championship, Placed 5th in the 2021 Congressional Cup, and has been actively sailing on the World Match Race Tour for the last 3 years. The team is based out of Newport Beach, California, and represents the Balboa Yacht Club.
Cole Tapper

Cole Tapper will be returning for his second Warren Jones regatta after finishing in third place in 2023. Since then, Tapper and his team have claimed a silver medal at the 2023 world sailing youth tracing world championship, as well as skippering Andoo Team Australia at the UniCredit Youth America’s Cup.

Sam leads his crew with the fearless determination of a Tasmanian Devil, embodying the spirit of Tasmania both on and off the water. Known for his high-level sailing success, Sam has an exceptional ability to master the conditions and manipulate the race to play to his team’s strengths. In 2023, his team claimed the National Championship title, a crowning achievement that cemented their reputation as one of Australia’s premier teams. Building on that success, they delivered another exceptional performance in 2024, earning the runners-up position in the fiercely competitive National Championships. Sam’s sailing prowess is bolstered by a rich heritage that combines the rugged resilience of Tasmanian maritime tradition with the adventurous spirit of Western Australia, inherited from his mother’s side. This unique blend of influences is reflected in his adaptability on the water and his relentless pursuit of excellence in every race. With a crew as tenacious as their skipper, Sam's team is one to watch—ready to take on the championship with grit, determination, and the ferocity of Tasmania’s most iconic creature.

Skipper/Team Bio (150-300 Words: Sailed with this team for 1 year, we are all current YTP students at RNZYS. During this year we have competed in 5 events placing 4th in the NZL youth international match racing champs at the RNZYS, 3rd at the Centerport international youth match racing champs in Wellington, 3rd at the NZL youth trials, and recently 2nd in the Harken youth international match racing champs in Aus.

We are a freshly put together team that sails out of RNZYS in Auckland New Zealand. Smiths racing involves all YTP sailors. Currently the skipper Hayden is ranked 11th in the youth world match racing ranking and on the climb. We’re excited to add Warren jones to our list of events and get some good yachting in.
